Welcome to our KAPAMILYA
FAHC UW was founded as a sister organization of UC Davis FAHC, on October 2015 at the University of Washington, Seattle. Our mission is to provide academic and social resources to all members interested in pursuing a health career in the clinical and non-clinical settings. We believe in promoting and informing members of Filipinx and Filipinx-American-related health issues, current events, and history. FAHC UW strives to provide opportunities and resources for members to learn, grow, and gain skills to achieve their full potential.
Update (01/05/21)
As of winter quarter 2021, FAHC has decided to update our active membership duties. We have allowed for a lot of leniency, including waiving membership fees last quarter in hopes of giving you adequate time to adjust to school in the virtual format as well as being understanding of current events.
However, FAHC has many great opportunities headed your way this year! We hope to make it fair to members who take the time to show up at our meetings and interact with our organization, that they reap the benefits of being part of our Kapamilya.

FAHC's Official Name Change
Since its founding, this organization has run on the platform of providing a community for all students interested in pursuing a health-related career. It is also built upon the values of promoting equity, and respecting the intersections of identities and lived experiences with fellow marginalized groups. The decision to change Filipino to Filipinx is an intention to operate outside of patriarchy and white-centric gender binaries that exist within the American context. This is a decision rooted in acknowledging that gender is a social construct and therefore fluid. The use of Filipinx is an intention to support and stand in solidarity with folks of all gender identities, particularly those who identify as genderqueer. This is not a move to disenfranchise the term Filipino/Filipina or the folks who identify as such, but rather a move towards creating inclusive spaces for all gender identities. Therefore, in order to fully practice these principles, FAHC's official name will be "Filipinx Association for Health Careers."

2023-24 Theme: Paglaki
Our theme for the 2023-2024 school year is Paglaki
Fil-Am History Month 2023:
FAHC understands the importance of recognizing those who come before us and their impact on our lives. For this year's Filipino American History Month, FAHC will recognize historical figures in Filipino history that indirectly (or directly) impacted our lives and the lives of our loved ones here and back home. Posts will be going up every Sunday on Instagram until the end of the month.
